Olympic Gold Medalist, Nick Baumgartner to Participate in Opening Ceremony of Meijer State Winter Games in Marquette, Michigan

The traditional winter sports festival will take place February 25-27, 2022 

WHAT:  The Meijer State Games of Michigan (MSGOM) in partnership with Travel Marquette is excited to announce that Olympic gold medalist Nick Baumgartner will be attending the Opening Ceremony for the Meijer State Winter Games in Marquette, Michigan on Friday, February 25.

Having competed in four Winter Olympics, Baumgartner claimed gold in the mixed team snowboard cross at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Baumgartner will be onsite for the Opening Ceremony to meet and cheer on competitors ahead of their participation in the eight sporting events at the games. Sporting events include cross country skiing, figure skating, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, ski & snowboard and ski jumping.

  • Athlete Check-In: 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

  • Opening Ceremony: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.  

  • **Baumgartner will be onsite and available for interviews from 6:00 – 8:00  p.m. on Friday, February 25.
